I happened to be in Monterey that August day 42 years ago so we, ( Mary, Catherine, and I , her 3 sisters) thought it would be fun to drive down and surprise her. Monterey to Ashland, Kentucky where they lived was about a 5 hour drive." -Roberta Thomas

10.41 Kb "The 1950's, Ruth flew out to Arizona with Roberta Ann. Mother was living yet so we enjoyed her company. Mother and I lived down on Laurel Avenue. We drove around the valley often showing her the city and in this picture we are showing her the cotton balls which is always a thrill for an out of town person. Ruth has on my purple plaid jacket." - Roberta Thomas
