ALEXANDER AND ??? THOMAS

{sjt#7-2} These notes are from a report by Brian L. Cartwright for James Thomas:

Alexander Thomas, son of John Thomas, was born about 1693 in Wales and died about 1760 of St Agnes, Cornwall, England about age 67.

General Notes: From Early Family Notes:

Alixander must have emigrated to Cornwall, probably to work in the tin mines around Truro and St. Agnes, as he appears on the St. Agnes parish rolls as the father of Elizabeth. Four of his children are registered at St. Agnes; Elizabeth baptized August 12, 1728 Richard baptized February 28, 1730 John baptized April 3, 1738 Alexander baptized October 11, 1740.

We know he must have emigrated after 1715, from the will of his father.

The seaside village of St. Agnes in Cornwall lies about twelve miles west of Truro. It was in the Anglican Church in St. AGnes that Alixander had his children christened. We have the church record and the Bishop's Transcripts, which are on file in the county record offices in Truro: "Thomas, Alexander".

Children from this marriage were:

Alexander Thomas Sr. (born in Oct 1740 in St Agnes, Cornwall, England - died on 14 Feb 1802 in Conemaugh Twp, Somerset Co, Pa)
Elizabeth Thomas was born about 1728 in Cornwall, England.
Richard Thomas was born about 1730 in Cornwall, England.
John Thomas was born about 1738 in Cornwall, England.
William Thomas.
Lewis Thomas.
